University Racing Eindhoven (URE) is a student team of TU/e where students cutting-edge electric race cars for Formula Student electric and driverless competitions worldwide, fostering teamwork, innovation, and engineering passion. URE completes an annual cycle of design, production, testing and competition with currently the URE19 in production!
I joined the URE17 team in the 2022/23 season. URE is divided into departments, with each having their specialism and tasks. During my year, I was active in the Operations and External Affairs department. With the production of the URE17, I learned many new production techniques and materials, such as carbon layering and manufacturing titanium components.
Within the operations department I was responsible for events and marketing. This included organizing events, designing team merchandise, flyers and magazines. These creative graphic design tasks had a lot of variation in purpose and flexibility. This required different realizations with Adobe skills like Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects and Photoshop.
External affairs was focused on the relation and acquisition of partners. This department taught me to get in contact with existing and potential company partners via fairs, meetings or calls. I believe these acquisition skills are very useful for future projects regarding stakeholders and other external relations.
