Hi, I am Maarten Klauwer; Industrial Design student in Eindhoven

During daily activities and less frequent activities, the challenging contrast between cultures and needs becomes clear. On the other hand, diversity shows me the beautiful possibility of combining and emerging different perspectives. With co-creation, I like to combine these different cultures and perspectives to fulfill everyone’s individual needs and traditions. I love to see designs that make daily life easy and playful. A very simple, economical design can make a huge difference in experience and efficiency.

Nevertheless, Designs containing the newest technology are a step forward in the world of combining designing and technology. The challenge for me is to incorporate technology into design in order for users to accept both of those two aspects; making technology more accessible and understandable for all people. Being able to combine cultures, understand people’s needs and accept new technology in a joyful and engaging form is necessary. Remembering own experiences and listening to others is very useful in the process of understanding and co-creation. Experiencing and exploring different places, people and activities helps me to understand other people and new technology.

Every day of the year, I observe the diverse perspectives and mindsets of people around me, as well as those from cultures worldwide. Engaging with these varied viewpoints provides valuable insights into different cultures, behaviors, and values. My design process is deeply rooted in these experiences and interests. The fabric of everyday life inspires me to blend disparate perspectives, leading me to question and envision ways to subtly empower daily existence.

Both software and hardware tools play a crucial role in visualizing and communicating my ideas. Applications like Adobe and SolidWorks hold immense value for me. My ideation process, coupled with my unique perspectives, results in playful yet efficient solutions—often framed as games or challenges. From a young age, I’ve turned everything into a personal game or competition, whether against myself or others. This drive pushes me to explore technologies that enhance performance and elevate the overall experience. Whether drawing from classical physics or creating digital innovations for data sharing, I am constantly seeking ways to improve and innovate.
